Got a moment? Is there something you’ve been looking for, but you just won’t stop long enough to see it? Who is pushing you? What is pulling you along by the neck, by the frantic fears of your mind? Can it be time to try something new?
They say “No one reads anymore.”
Why is that? Reading gives you control. It allows you to stop at any point, to exercise your faculties even while in the midst of the story; to relate, to ponder, to consider, to grow. These are all things certain powers that be do not want you to do. They want to feed you images and sounds like cranial carbohydrates to keep you satiated just long enough, with just enough rapidly depleting energy to scroll a bit further and desperately click on the next one— all of it to keep you thinking what they want you to think, stuck where they want you to be.
Am I a bitter writer of words people aren’t reading? Maybe. But, it is the bitter root that often provides the best medicine. (Yes, I kind of made that up.) What is my point in all this?
READ. Please. If not my works, then something else that challenges your mind, your spirit, your status quo. Pick up the dusty Bible, the classic you’ve been putting off, or the new emerging author that speaks to your soul.
For what it’s worth, here is my offering…
In this next chapter of Blood of Relics, you’re not going to believe what you see. One tyrant falls, but will another? Who has taken sides beyond expectation? What would you do— What will you do when your eyes are opened?
Read on, enjoy, share. You won’t regret the change of pace, the time spent, I assure you.
See you next time!
Michael
